HOW WE WORK
PRODUCTION
Our garments crafted from European dead-stock fabrics are produced in a small, independent studio in East London, where attention to detail and sustainability are at the forefront. Our hand-loomed organic fabrics from India are sewn by a small family-owned, ethical factory in Mumbai, ensuring both quality and fair labor practices. In Peru, our knitwear is produced by a fair trade manufacturer using indigenous fibres, supporting local artisans and preserving traditional techniques. Finally, our sheepskin pieces are made locally by one of the few remaining skilled leather and sheepskin manufacturers, ensuring the highest craftsmanship and a commitment to quality.
MATERIALS
We mostly source fabrics from the 'dead-stock' produced by French & Italian luxury fashion houses, reducing waste and the need for new production. Our hand-loomed pieces are sourced from Gujarat India where drought resistant Kala cotton crops are grown, spun and then hand-loomed locally by families who form part of a co-operative of highly skilled artisans. This seed to cloth circular economy has a positive impact both socially and environmentally. Our sheepskin pieces are mostly made from end-of-line sheepskins, again making use of mainstream fashion industry waste, this also means that many pieces are unique.
In conversation with Artist May Hands
"Rather than material I think it’s the immaterial that is integral to my work. I am intrigued by the history and emotion that material can hold. I believe in the animacy of all things; thoughts, feelings and memories are imprinted within everything"
