Raw denim colour transfer, or crocking, is a normal process where excess indigo dye from dark, unwashed denim rubs off onto skin, bags, shoes, and upholstery, especially when the denim is new or wet. To minimise it, wash new jeans in cold water on a gentle cycle, and consider a soak in cold water and white vinegar to set the dye.
